The fulfillment of a dream

During the month of January 1996 we started our ministry. A major challenge was not only to lead the people, but also to have aplace to meet. We started with 12-15 people, gathering in our home, beause we did not have a building. I was teaching three times a week and we prayed together for well over 3 months. At that time my father was not a believer and I had a big fight with him over this matter. I was forced to look for a building, but all refused, because they considerd us a sect. In Bulgaria the general inclinations towards protestancy wer and still are negative. Everything outside the Orthodox church isconsidered a sect. That's why, the renting of buldings by protestant churches and ministries is extremely limited.

A little later in our ministry was demonstrated the first miracle - a person who hated the protestant churches and persecuted them, gave me the keys to the first hall in which we started helding our services. Its capacity was 140 sq.m., e.g. about 100-130 people. At first, this completely satisfied the needs of our ministry.

When we started meeting in that hall, this moved the ministry much ahead, on another level. Many people started coming and the Lord demonstrated His favor upon us in an extraordinary way. The uniqueness which the Lord placed upon our ministry drew not only gypsies, but also bulgarians, turks, russians and ukrainians. With my wife we started praying for a new building, which we can own and which can become an unifyng center for all ethnicities, so the Lord's Kingdom can be demonstrated on the Earth. My dream to build a House of the Lord was a key one and one that was in the center of my calling. Together with my wife we found a plot of land we liked and started praying.

During that period of earnest prayer, which continued for about 3 years and a half, we held several conferences in the city. They made the orthodox oriented nationalistic parties very mad, because they looked at us as to sectarians, threatening the community and the nation. The city municipality of Stara Zagora with the then mayor and political paties absolutely refused to us the larger halls, threatening us that we would cause civil unrest and riots against us. Later they even drove us out of the hall in which we already had our services, so we were left without a hall at all. We were forced to meet in a pub and believe me, it was glorious. Ministers from the municipality, moved by the nationalistic parties and civil interests, continued to persecute us, forbidding us to meet i the pub. Because we had no building and because of the outside pressure,our ministry could not establish itself and develop normally. But despite of that we continued our services in the pub. Let me tell you about a normal service there. The pub had two halls, one of which larger where we gathered, and the second one smaller, where people gathered to drink. During the services, while I was preaching, drunk people were coming, making fun of us and trying to drive us out. But we continued with the services.

At that time we were absolutely persecuted by the local municipality, the nationalistic parties, the orthodoxy and by different individuals. Despite of that, God's favor was completely upon our ministry. In the year 2000 we experienced a financial breakthrough and bought the land about which we had prayed, my wife and I and a group of intercessors.

During 2001 we made a project for building a 1056 sq.m. building, later worrying that we would not be able to accomplish it. An enormous financial resource was needed in order to complete the building.

The start of the building was a complete act of faith for us. The standard way to start a building would require that a person has 90% financial coverage, and we had just 10%. During the building we were witnesses of different financial crisis. The US dollar colapsed and we were shaken by it, because our financial resource was in US dollars and therefore it shrinked very much because of the crisis. But the Lord intevened and our sponsors compensated te sum without even us telling them about that. At that time the war in Irak started as well. The Lord told us that this will not affect the building though. Inflation and the prices in the nation began to jump drastically high, but the Lord so did that our sponsors compensate for it and we were feeling so blessed.

Once, during a time of great distress because of the lack of finances for the building, I was visited by the Lord and He asked me: What thing you have asked of Me and I have not given it to you? This word raised me up and inspired me to continue with faith.

In the time frame of 5 years, from 2003 to 2008 we finished the building and furnished it completely. The building and the furnishing are on the highest level and we say that with full humility.

On 17.09.2008, the building commision from the Municipality gave us Act 16 with the legal right to use the building. Now they can not persecute us anymore - we have our own property. The dream has become a REALITY.
